Co-curricular and
Extra-Curricular Activities
Gyan Bharati does not focus
solely on Academic Excellence. Rather it aims at
All Round Development of the students so that they
become worthy Citizens of the Country. The day
begins with Morning Prayers that develop Courage,
Confidence, Faith and Righteousness among
students. Physical Strength and Mental Ability
also increase through Yoga, Meditation and
Chanting of "Vedic Mantras".
We set aside special quality time each week to
spend hours to make them familiar with our rich
and ancient spiritual heritage. The Veda's Divine
Commands add value to their lives.
Our views are completely based on the deep-rooted
Indian thought and philosophy, which we share in
the Bhagwat Gita and Ramayana classes. Yoga and
Meditation have taught the Children to look for
good in every situation, something that is
valuable and has given them Self-Confidence,
Complete Peace and Stability of Mind. For this
purpose the students are encouraged to participate
whole-heartedly in activities like Games and
Sports, Physical Praining including
Painting/Drawing, Arts and Crafts, Music, Dance,
Debates, Quizzes as also social service. On the
occasion of the Prize Distribution Ceremony
students present a colourful Cultural Programme.
Other regular events include Art, Craft and
Science Exhibitions, Fun-Fiesta, observance of
Independence Day, Republic Day, Saraswati Puja,
Rabindra Jayanti, Teachers' Day etc. The students
are encouraged to take part in different Inter-
School Competitions in the fields of Debate,
Quizzes, Essay Writing, Sit and Draw, Painting,
Music, Dance, Drama etc. Our students have
performed creditably in many such competitions.
The system of 'School House' has been introduced
and Inter house competitions are organized
throughout the year. The house system promotes a
Spirit of Healthy competition as also a strong
team spirit and sense of togetherness in different
activities.
The school has got its own magazine which provides
a good opportunity to the students to express
their thoughts and share their experience. There
is also a system of keeping the students posted
with the important news of the day on a regular
basis.
Excursions and Educational tours form an integral
part of the co-curricular activities. The places
for Excursion are so chosen that the students get
an opportunity of learning beyond the school
curriculum. Educational Tours of longer duration
to places of Historical interest are also
organized.
